Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles struck energy facilities, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to restore power.
